本職はコメディアンのジャスパーさん。MOVE, ELOのBEV BEVANのお友達だったそうです。このシングルはJEFF LYNNEのプロデュースのもと、BEV BEVANサポートで1975年にリリースされトップ10ヒットを記録した記念碑。
　「恋のぼんちシート」みたいな感じでしょうか？

1990年発表の2nd「I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got」に収録された一曲。元プリンスの手による「Nothing Compares 2 U」も収録し、そのヒットによって彼女のブレイクへのきっかけとなったアルバムです。
　自らの美貌による誤解を避けるが為にわざわざスキンヘッドするそのタフなATTITUDEは、当然楽曲にも激しく現れていおりいわゆる言葉型のアーティストと言えるかもしれません。
　この曲も歌詞を見るまでもなくそのストイックな音像と声に圧倒されます。彼女の出身地アイルランドではMOPEDがどのような位置づけになってるかは知るよしもないのですが、歌詞を読むとさらに曲としての威力が増してくのがとても魅力的です。

　レズビアンとしてのカミングアウトなど何かと話題の多い彼女ですが、コアなファンが多いアーティストです。
